This flagship installation showcases the very highest level of large-format tiling. Our specialist team installed marble-effect porcelain slabs measuring 3m x 1.5m and just 6mm thick. Each slab was vein-matched and book-matched, then resin-infilled for a seamless, continuous flow of natural marble veining. On panels of this scale, there is simply no room for error.
Spanning over 3,000 square metres, this prestigious project demanded precision at every stage. The images here show two of the W/Cs, where the seamless slab work and flawless vein-matching speak for themselves.
The Skill Behind Large Format Tiling
Large format tiling has become the standard for high-end interiors, and for good reason. Fewer grout lines create a cleaner, more luxurious finish that lets the natural marble veining take centre stage. However, these oversized slabs are far harder to handle and install. The 3m x 1.5m panels used on this project weigh a considerable amount, yet at just 6mm thick they are also surprisingly fragile. As a result, only an experienced large format tiling team should attempt work on this scale.
Vein-Matched Marble-Effect Slabs
Vein-matching is where true craftsmanship shows. Our tilers carefully planned the layout so the veins flow seamlessly from one slab to the next, mirroring across book-matched panels. We then resin-infilled the joints to remove any visible break in the pattern. The finished surface looks like a single, continuous piece of natural marble.
